New Overwatch Experimental Cards Cover Weapons And Abilities

New Overwatch Experimental Cards Cover Weapons And Abilities

Overwatch released a new experimental card that follows the recent damage and healing experimental cards. The latest experimental card targets Ashe, Baptiste, Mccree, Orisa, and Roadhog. The experimental hero updates for the last week of September focus on balancing hero weapons and abilities.

Using the 2-2-2 Role Queue ruleset, the following balance changes to the targeted heroes may affect the live game upon completion:

ASHE

Ashe, the leader of the Deadlock Gang, is still a bit too powerful. She’s a leader, after all. But the Overwatch’s dev team still likes to keep her rifle feeling impactful, so for this experiment, they’re taking some power out of her Dynamite ability instead.

Dynamite

  • Explosion damage reduced from 75 to 50

BAPTISTE

As a combat medic, Baptiste generates most of his ultimate charge through area-of-effect healing. As such, the dev team decided to reduce his area healing values and scale down the cost of his ultimate.

Amplification Matrix

  • Ultimate cost decreased 15

MCCREE

There’s no denying that McCree is a powerful anti-flanker and damage dealer. After scaling down the damage output of McCree’s primary fire, the dev team is considering giving Mcree back some of his powers (based on the previous update) through improvements to his abilities.

Combat Roll

  • Can now be activated in the air
  • Distance increased by 20%

Flashbang

  • Stun duration increased from 0.7 to 0.8 seconds

ORISA

Orisa always defends her team on the frontlines, so her immense power is understandable. But her weapon is another story. Increased projectile speed will help Orisa’s weapon feel more responsive, reducing the need to lead targets. The dev team found out that recent adjustments to Orisa’s abilities were more impactful than what they were originally anticipated, so they increased her armor to compensate.

Base Armor

  • Base armor increased from 200 to 250

Fusion Driver

  • Projectile speed increased from 90 to 120

ROADHOG

Roadhog’s short-range blasts of shrapnel covers a wide spread of area. After the last round of shotgun improvements, Roadhog’s Chain Hook combo still wasn’t effective against some of the smaller enemy heroes. This change pulls targets closer to melee range for swifter, more reliable combo execution.

Chain Hook

  • Now pulls targets 0.5 meters closer (3.5 meters down to 3.0 meters)
